What we do (and don't do) with your data
Short and to the point. No legalese, no dark patterns.
What we store
We only store information that you actively share with us. That means:
- Contact form submissions (name, email, phone, message, anything else you type in).
- Account and product data you enter into your ShopVirge shop, if you are a customer.
On top of that, we use Google Analytics to measure, in aggregate, how many people visit the site and which pages are popular. We don't fingerprint your browser and we don't enrich your data with third-party sources.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand how many visitors we get and which pages work best. To do this, Google sets a cookie and processes data such as your (anonymized) IP address, browser, and the pages you view. We use this purely to improve the site, not to identify you personally or to track you for advertising.
What we don't do
- We don't sell your data. Not to advertisers, not to brokers, not to anyone.
- We don't use analytics for advertising. We don't link your visit to ad profiles, and we run no Facebook pixel or session replay.
- We don't enrich your data. We don't combine what you share with outside data sources to build a profile of you.
How we use what you share
When you fill in the contact form or request a demo, the message is delivered to our team so we can reply to you. We keep it only as long as we need it for that conversation and any follow-up.
If you become a customer, the data inside your shop (products, translations, orders) is used to operate your shop and nothing else. You can export everything at any time, and you can ask us to delete it.
Third parties we do rely on
- Formspree handles delivery of contact form submissions to our inbox.
- Google Analytics measures visitor numbers and which pages are popular.
- Google Maps embeds the map on our contact page. The map only loads when you visit that page.
- GitHub Pages hosts this website.
Each of these sees what is strictly needed to do their job (a form submission, a map tile request, a page request). None of them get a profile of who you are or what you do across the rest of the web.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask us at any time what data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Get in touch and we'll take care of it.
Changes to this statement
If we ever change how we handle data, we update this page first.
